Homemade Garlic Bread
Homemade Garlic Bread
Perfect to serve alongside soups, pastas and casseroles! When it comes to choosing your bread, you can go with whatever loaf you like. Just choose one that has a good amount of dough in the middle and is not too high, as it wonât cook enough the whole way through. I go for ciabatta as it works really well! Please note: I had a large ciabatta so I only made one side into garlic bread (and froze the other side). The recipe below will only make one half of a large loaf.
Ingredients
- 1 loaf bread I used half a long ciabatta
- 4 tablespoons butter at room temperature
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic very finely chopped
- 1/4 cup parsley leaves finely chopped
- sea salt & cracked black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Slice the bread open down the middle and separate the two sides. Place on a baking tray.
- In a small bowl, mix the butter, olive oil, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper. Spread over the bread and push into the dough with the back of a spoon. Cover gently with foil (try not to let the foil touch the garlic paste).
- Place the tray in the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 5â10 minutes until the edges are golden and crispy, but the middle is still fluffy and doughy. YUM!
