HOMEMADE GARLIC BREAD

Perfect to serve alongside soups, pastas and casseroles!!!

When it comes to choosing your bread, you can go with whatever loaf you like.

Just choose one with a good amount of dough in the middle and not too high, as it won’t cook enough the whole way through.

I go for ciabatta!!! It works really well.

Please note - I had a large ciabatta so I only made one side into garlic bread (and froze the other bread). The recipe below will only make one half of a large loaf ☺️

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf of bread (I used a long ciabatta)

  • 4 tbsp butter, room temperate

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced or very chopped

  • 1/4 cup parsley, finely chopped

  • Good pinch of salt

  • Black pepper

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees calculus. Slice bread open down the middle and separate the two sides. Place on a baking tray.

  2. For the paste: In a small bowl, mix the butter, olive oil, garlic, parsley, salt & pepper. Spread over the bread and push into the dough with the back of a spoon. Cover gently with foil (try not to let the foil touch the garlic paste).

  3. Place the tray in the oven. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 5-10 mins until the edges are golden and crispy, but the middle is still fluffy & doughy. YUM!!!!!
