Burrata With Sizzling Flavoured Oil
Burrata With Sizzling Flavoured Oil
Talk about jazzing up your starters!!!!This recipe is really simple, but absolutely phenomenal. Much more exciting than store bought dips!!
Ingredients
- 2 burrata cheese large, or 4 mini burrata
- 1/2 cup olive oil extra virgin, or grapeseed oil
- 2 spring onion finely sliced
- 2 cloves garlic very finely diced or minced
- 2 tablespoon basil thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons mint thinly sliced
- 1/2 red chilli long, very finely diced
- 2 tablespoons pine nuts toasted
- sea salt pinch
Instructions
Method:
- Remove the burrata approx. 1 hour before serving to bring to room temperate.
- In a small heat-proof bowl, add the spring onion, garlic, basil, mint, red chilli, sea salt & toasted one nuts. Mix well.
- Place a small saucepan onto medium heat. Pour in the oil and heat until it’s almost smoking – you can throw in a very small piece of bread and if it bubbles, it’s ready. Carefully pour the hot oil over the spring onion mix, stir it through and let it sit for 5-10 minutes to infuse.
- Place the burrata onto a small serving plate or shallow bowl. Spoon the flavoured oil over the burrata. Serve with crusty baguette or your choice of crackers.
- Tip: You don’t want to have the oil heat on very high to begin with, it will burn the oil. Start with medium heat and give it a stir every now and then, but keep an eye on it.
