Slow Cooker Asian Beef & Broccoli

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 kg beef rump steak sliced thinly
  • 1 brown onion chopped
  • 4 cm ginger piece, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin
  • 1/4 kecap manis
  • 1 tablespoon corn flour mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 350 ml chicken stock
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 400 g canned whole tomatoes drained
  • 3 tablespoons sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • To the slow cooker: add onion, beef, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, hoisin and kecap manis.
  • Combine cornflour and water, then add it to the slow cooker along with the chicken stock. This will help thicken the sauce as it cooks.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  • 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli and canned baby corn to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  • Before serving, sprinkle sesame seeds over the dish and give it a final stir.
