SLOW COOKER ASIAN BEEF & BROCCOLI

Ingredients

  • 1kg rump beef, sliced thinly 

  • 1 brown onion, chopped 

  • 4cm piece ginger, finely chopped 

  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped 

  • 1/2  cup soy sauce 

  • 1/4  cup hoisin 

  • ¼ kecap manis

  • 1 tablespoon cornflour mixed with 2 tablespoons water

  • 350ml chicken stock 

  • 2 cups broccoli florets i

  • 400g canned baby corn, drained 

  • 3 tablespoons of sesame seeds

Method : 

  1. To the slow cooker: add onion, beef, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, hoisin and kecap manis.

  2. Combine cornflour and water, then add it to the slow cooker along with the chicken stock. This will help thicken the sauce as it cooks.

  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours.

  4. 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli and canned baby corn to the slow cooker and stir to combine.

  5. Before serving, sprinkle sesame seeds over the dish and give it a final stir.
