Slow Cooker Asian Beef & Broccoli

- 1 kg beef rump steak thinly sliced
- 1 brown onion chopped
- 4 cm ginger piece finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 1/4 cup kecap manis
- 1 tablespoon cornflour
- 2 tablespoons water
- 350 ml chicken stock
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 400 g canned baby corn drained
- 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
Instructions
- To the slow cooker, add the beef, onion, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, hoisin and kecap manis.
- Combine the cornflour and water, then add it to the slow cooker, along with the chicken stock. This will help thicken the sauce as it cooks.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli and canned baby corn to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
- Before serving, give everything a final stir and sprinkle the sesame seeds over.
