Slow Cooker Asian Beef & Broccoli

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg beef rump steak thinly sliced
  • 1 brown onion chopped
  • 4 cm ginger piece finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup kecap manis
  • 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 350 ml chicken stock
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 400 g canned baby corn drained
  • 3 tablespoons sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • To the slow cooker, add the beef, onion, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, hoisin and kecap manis.

  • Combine the cornflour and water, then add it to the slow cooker, along with the chicken stock. This will help thicken the sauce as it cooks.
    1 tablespoon cornflour, 2 tablespoons water, 350 ml chicken stock
  • Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, add the broccoli and canned baby corn to the slow cooker and stir to combine.
    2 cups broccoli florets, 400 g canned baby corn
  • Before serving, give everything a final stir and sprinkle the sesame seeds over.
    3 tablespoons sesame seeds
