SLOW COOKER HOISIN CHICKEN

Serves 6-8

Cooking time: 6 hours (high) 8 hours (low)

Ingredients:

  • 1kg chicken thighs, chopped into 4cm

  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce 

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce 

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 3cm piece ginger, finely chopped 

  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped 

  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

  • 3 tablespoons cornflour, mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Serve with rice, steamed greens and extra sesame seeds


Method: 

  1. To the slow cooker: Add chicken, garlic, ginger, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, honey, cornflour and water mix. Then mix well to combine.


  2. Place the lid on and cook for 6 hours on high or 8 hours on low. 


  3. Serve rice into bowls, top with hoisin chicken and steamed greens. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
