ACTUAL HEALTHY BANANA BREAD

I’ve been banging on for years that most banana bread recipes or banana bread you buy in cafes are not healthy at all!

Most recipes use the less healthy ingredients such as butter, refined sugar and vegetable oil.

THIS RECIPE is actually HEALTHY!!! Using ingredients that are much better for you.

So simple, takes no time at all. Perfect for a snack, after dinner delight or school lunch box option (you can just do 2.5 cups of plain flour and eliminate the almond meal).

Ingredients:

  • 2 overripe medium bananas, mashed

  • 1/3 cup light olive oil

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/3 cup of milk (any milk is fine)

  • 1/3 cup of honey

  • 1.5 cups of wholemeal plain flour (GF flour is also fine)

  • 1 cup of almond meal

  • 2 tsp baking powder

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

  2. Mash bananas in a bowl with a fork.

  3. Add all wet ingredients together and combine.

  4. Add the remaining dry ingredients to the wet and combine.

  5. Pour into a lined loaf pan. Feel free to lay and press a split banana on the top for decoration.

  6. Bake for 45 mins. Remove and cool.
