Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients
  

  • 1 brown onion diced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic chopped
  • 700 g chicken thighs chopped into 4 cm pieces
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 400 g canned crushed tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons tikka masala paste
  • 2 cups frozen green beans
  • 2–3 tablespoons greek yoghurt
  • brown or white rice to serve

Instructions
 

  • To the slow cooker, add the onion, ginger, garlic, chicken, ground coriander, ground turmeric, garam masala, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes and tikka masala paste. Give it all a good stir to coat the chicken.

  • Set your slow cooker to low and let it work its magic for about 6–8 hours. Alternatively cook on high for 4 hours.
  • Just before serving, add the green beans and swirl in the greek yoghurt. Serve on brown or white rice.
